SIT (Southland Institute of Technology) is a polytechnic in the far south of New Zealand. It's where you want to go to learn something (such as nursing) for literally a tenth of the costs.
Where other polytechs in New Zealand cost around ten or so thousand, SIT costs less than 1,000.
Oh, I see thanks for clarifying
How come it's so cheap?
Hmmm...My guess would be Tim Shadbolt (the mayor) realised Invercargill was becoming a retirement home and was losing cash fast.
He set to to getting SIT on the Zero fee scheme which resulted in the low costs.
Doing so brought young students from all over the place to Invercargill and now Shadbolt's racking in the cash.
Ingenious really.
