Single Mom

Okay i am a single mom and i have a 5yr old . Who just started kindergarten in currently in school for CNA/PCT but my question is i know alot of jobs have set hours like 7-3 , 3-11, and 11-7 . I really want to work 7-3 but i dont know what to do being that i have my child alone just say daddy away for awhile i have help in the afternoon. I'm currently working towards a car. (Any Advice).;)

if you have help in the afternoon, you might be better off doing the morning shift, since i'm assuming your child would be in school then

Yes she will be in school I'm just worried about how to get her to school and work I hope everything works out in my favor . Thanks for your advice

I'm kinda wondering about the same thing... I think most schools start at 8 or around there? If you have to be at work at 7 it might be difficult to get the child to school. My oldest will start pre-k next year and Hopefully I will be working by then.

See if your local DSHS office or Work First has a program to pay for childcare when your little one is not in school. I think if you have a job lined up and you tell them I can't accept this job because I need daycare they will fund it (I've heard that but I'm not positive). I know the daycare my daughter went to would have older kids that get on the bus when they were old enough for kindergarden.

There is also a program called Workign Connections Child Care which you have to have a job that might work. Each state is different though.

I know how you feel. Is there a daycare by your house that has before and after school care? Some day cares allow you to drop off the child at 6:30am and they drive the kids to school. That's what I'm going to do when I start my CNA class... Good luck to you =]

i do have help in the afternoon my only concern was the morning time my daughter has to be to school at 7am and i know must cna jobs start at 7am and thats the shift that i want to apply for because i will like to be a home with her at night and im a single parent but i will look in the daycare thing for the morning time wish me luck and i wish u guys luck and thanks for the advice.

I hope you're able to find a day care that can watch her in the AM and take her to school. Good luck girl!! :clpty::dncgbby::dncgcpd:

Thanks i hope so too.
