In CRNA school do the students practice on each other any? I mean do students put each other under any kind of anesthesia? Sorry if this is a dumb question, just something that popped through my head. :) Thanks

ASHLEY, i'm not in anesthesia school but i don't think they do. i have several friends who are, and who are in the process of becoming, CRNA's and i've not heard 1 of them mention that part of school. it's not a dumb question either. i know in nursing school we practiced IV's, etc on each other. it's a legit. question. actually i wondered that before also.

No, they practice with mannequins then perform on the patients.

hahaha, I can't imagine my fellow students letting me practice on them. We joke about it all the time, but I can't see anyone signing up.
We did practice neck line landmarks the other day. But didn't use any sharp instruments.

Never practiced on a mannequin or a fellow student. Only practiced on real live patients. BTW, I have experienced awareness under anesthesia during boring lectures/talks by our staff.
