Should I give up or keep going?!

Published

Hi, I am currently taking the pre-requirements. I finished basically everything and this will be my last semester before applying. I have had a very rough time these past 2 years and my grades suffered a lot. I have a GPA of 2.72 and B's in almost all my classes, however I do know the material, I love medicine but I feel that with those grades I wont be able to get in and that scares me. I spent the past 5 years studying, first learning English and now all the requirements RN schools ask for. I did my CPR, I have volunteer hours, all my shots but my grades are not as good as they could be and that scares me. Should I give up or apply and see what happens?

If you have met all the requirements, apply. You have nothing to loose but lots to gain. Please don't let all your hard work go to waste

Your probably at that stage where we all come across at some point, and believe me you will have the same feelings throughout your nurse training.

Good luck, and be positive xxx

Please don't take this as an attack.

But you said you had to learn english, is it possible that your language barrier has held you back somewhat? Will it possibly make Nursing more difficult? Do you have access to transators to help overcome this potential problem?

I can't advise anyone to not even apply, that's quitting on yourself, your dream. But you must ensure you are prepared for what can be a daunting task for native english speakers. If you don't get in this time, work on your weakness and apply again, and again, and again.
