Hi everyone. i'm a pre-nursing student and my original plan was to apply for schools and programs in fall 2018. however, recently, i've been getting doubts about if i should apply this semester or wait for the spring semester, or something like that. so far, i have a 4.0 gpa at the moment but still have microbiology to take as a final prereq. i'm taking the TEAs next week so i have that to wait for. but if i do well on the TEAs and maintain my 4.0 this semester is it worth it to apply now? i have these doubts because i have no hospital volunteering experience yet or haven't had a medical job. i've talked to a counselor and they advised me to apply but i still have my worries.
one program i plan on applying to gives states that volunteer hours aren't a factor in the application but i know some of the other programs i plan on applying to gives extra points for people who have had volunteer/working experience in a clinical setting. so, at the moment, i'm conflicted between applying for fall 2018 after taking my TEAs or if i should hold out on applying and get volunteer hours/medical experience beforehand and apply a later semester.

If I were you, I'd apply! You could always take your teas, then start the process of looking into volunteering at a hospital/whatever you choose to get exposure. The worst thing the school could do is say no~ then you could reapply with your gained medical experience. Good luck with your decision! :)
