Shoreline Spring '22

Hey guys,

Who here is applying to Shoreline CC for the Spring cohort? The point system is relatively new so I'm nervous about that... How many points do you guys have and have you taken the NLN-PAX yet?

Hello! Current first quarter student here. In my opinion, I prefer the newer point system because it gave me a bigger chance at being accepted whereas with the old one, I was missing volunteering hours so I was short 10 points from their cut off. I believe I got in with 106 points? And I think the lowest was around 102?

I did hear Spring quarter usually has a lower cut off compared to fall and Winter, though. The safest is to make sure you have at least 100 points.

Results came out for me last night and I did not make the cut by .5 points so I had to sign the Alternate Acceptance form and have to attend the mandatory registration zoom meeting on March 9th. Does anyone have a background on what happens next? How is my chance of making it? I was hoping to hear back before 2nd week of March because I'd have to put in a 2-week notice for work (ideally). I'm not losing hope tho, but I'm also not setting my expectations high.

The letter I received stated that if the acceptance form isn't sent back by Feb. 28, that spot will be given to an alternate. So I'm assuming you would hear back around the beginning of March if that were to happen and they selected you. 0.5 points is so close, I'm wishing you the best!
