SHOE HELP

Hi guys! ICU nurse here. Been in the ICU for 3 years and am always moving around. My PT recommended BROOKS years ago and I have loved them. I also did myself a disservice by not wearing compression socks til recently.
anyways, my brooks have been suffocating my pinky toe and I'm not sure if it's my compression socks being too tight or the shoes. It's killing me. I just need to be able to spread my toes every now and then. It has me looking into crocs, Birkenstock clogs, danskos, hokas, on clouds, anything. Pref something easy to get on that wouldn't make my pinky toes feel like they are being suffocated. Anyone have any ideas? Could it be the design of the brooks? This is a new problem for me. And I love my brooks but need ones that can provide me the comfort of always moving while not cutting my pinky toe off.
ANY advice is welcome

The shoe that works for someone else might not work for you. If you go to a running shoe store some of those places do analysis of your foot size/arch they would be able to help you find something that fits you best.

I have degenerative arthritis as welll as Diabetic Neuropathy in both feet and boy do my dogs hurt at the end of the day. Still I was never one to really invest in shoes. I went to an orthopedic specialty shoe store and bought a pair of Custom fitted HOKA's which cost me dearly. BUt the difference has been well worth. I highly suggest that you seek out a custom fitting. Start with a podiatrist who can give you a proper fit for any anatomical feature of your foot that causes you pain. The hoka's have a wider toebox that most other running shoes.
