Shift Differentials?

Published

Hi there. I am new to Allnurses as a registered member but I have been reading and searching the forums for quite some time now. I am a first semester RN student.

I have read in several other posts about shift differentials for night and weekend nursing and am curious about how much they are in Alabama. I am married with a 1 year old son and plan to work weekend nights when I graduate in order to keep him out of day care. If this info is already posted somewhere I apologize. Thanks in advance!

Every hospital is different. Some do 10% for nights. Don't forget Baylor (weekend) hours either. I know of a few RNs that have been making 100k a year working Baylor hours. $100k around here is a really good chunk of change.

Thank you so much for the reply! I want to work at Children's in the PICU on weekend nights. As corny as this may sound, it is my calling :)
