As the title says, I got an opportunity to shadow an AA (Anesthiology Assistant) tomorrow at my hospital's OR. I have a good friend who is an AA and she had a friend who is also an AA at the hospital I work at so she got me the hookup in the OR. I could not find any CRNA's to shadow, which is why I'm in the situation that I'm in. However, I am still very grateful for the opportunity because I know the jobs in two are similar.
That being said, what can I expect from my shadowing experience with an AA vs. a CRNA? I have a list of questions I'd like to ask the AA tomorrow. Any do's and dont's you'd recommend? And how long did you stay and shadow for? I'm not sure if I should just stay half of the AA's shift, or the entire duration.
