Shadow experience question..

I am visiting the first of three NICU's that I am interested in. I am in my senior year and am off for the summer so this is the perfect time. I was wondering about the actual time that I spend there. I have shadowed 2 other units in the past, however this was during my labor and delivery and peds rotations. What can I do to make myself memorable in their eyes. I want every impression to be the best possible. I will not be "doing" anything other than shadowing as I am not going in as a part of my University.

One more question..The nurse educator said I should just come in scrubs. I have scrub pants, my shirt is a polo type with my University logo on it. I am assuming I need to go and purchase a scrub top. Any suggestions. Does it matter?

Hope this makes sense. Thanks for your help!

I don't think you need to go buy anything new just for this experience. I think she just meant to be in typical hospital attire rather than street clothes. The only thing about your outfit might be the university logo. Maybe you could just wear your nursing shoes, scrub pants, and a plain polo shirt? You could also ask around - one of your classmates is bound to have scrub tops from a nursing assistant job or something, and you could just borrow one for the day.
