Setting up my own clinicals

Hello I'm getting ready to begin an LPN refresher program, so I can get my license endorsed to Georgia. I have to set up my own clinicals at a facility. Can anyone give me advice on how to do this? Where should I go? Hospital, LTC, or Dr. Office? I have to do 80 hours and I live in the Atlanta area. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks!!

Try MCCG in Macon. Thats the only hospital in GA that I know of where you can set up your own clinicals.

Contact the nursing education department - even if they don't handle this particular thing, they will be able to tell you how to do it. WARNING - this can be a very difficult process, even if you already have a qualified person who has agreed to precept you (sounds like you don't). I don't understand why any legitimate 'course' or 'school' would push it off on their students . . they should have the required practicums set up beforehand.

Thanks I've actually applied to their program since this post. They do everything, paperwork, and clinicals. The only downside is that it doesn't start til may!!!! Ughhhh!!! But theyre ga approved. I'm ready to start working!!!

May will be here before you know it. But the thought of waiting sucks. Are you currently working at a hospital, if so they should allow you to do clinicals there.
