Got thru my first week of classes!! It was easy but overloading... I am currently taking A&P 1, Psyc 2314, SDEV class, and Ethics. While SDEV finishes in March and Ethics starts in March my current classes have gave me tons of HOMEWORK, no lie! And it's only been 1week?!?! I'm guessing that was the easy week, I'm a bit nervous on what's to come for the rest of the semester.... Any advice? Is this about what's happening to everyone out there???

Good day:
https://allnurses.com/pre-nursing-student/how-get-any-846733.html is an excellent article. Stay organized. Stay disciplined. Conquer early; conquer well. What I mean by the last statement is that anytime you can get a jump on completing something, get it done. For example, yesterday our nutrition professor (who has us doing 1 to 3 projects per week) added another twist of a 500+ word to no less than one page project 4 times through the semester with the 1st one starting yesterday; each one has a 4 day deadline. So 1) I updated my calendar for all four projects, and 2) I did the 1st one last night as I had time. Do your best to find a flow of how you spend your time.
thank you.

I definitely agree with pmabraham. There is no room for procrastination in nursing school. Keep at it! You'll do great:)

I second that advice, don't procrastinate! Normally, that's all I do. This semester I have been staying ahead of my work so far and boy does it feel good :)

I use a giant office calendar that has plenty of room to write on. I then choose a different color highlighter to represent each class. I highlight all major things on the calendar (ex: tests, clinical paperwork, papers), and then put the "smaller" things in my handheld planner. The bottom line is to find a way of staying organized that works for you. Nursing school work constantly escalates, if you stay ahead and you will do great. I also use the 50/10 rule for study sessions to avoid burning out. Study 50 minutes, take a 10 minute break, repeat. One last thought, really try not to look at the big picture too much. At first I found myself with a list of 500 things to do per day, which made me feel overwhelmed constantly. Over time I learned to make a list of the 5 most important things for the day, then add more as I complete them. By doing this, you will get more done and you're not staring at a scroll all day. Find a way to stay organized, try not to procrastinate, remember to take a few breaks, and enjoy what you're learning! You got this!

I am noticing an overload as well. My A&P instructor is of "another world" and with 3 other courses, and feeling the pressure of 2 tests this week, I am managing quite well I think.
Just earlier I had to inform my husband that only studying A&P on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday will NOT help me pass this class with the 3.5-4.0 I desire so THAT IS NOT AN OPTION! That's like telling him to only do test cases on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at his job. I feel the pressure and its just starting, but I can do this! My boys need to see me like this! To motivate them! If mommy can do it, they definitely can!

Wow so it's not just me. I'm extremely overloaded as well. It's not that it's difficult but it's just more application versus memorization which I find takes more time and thought.
I'm taking Microbiology + Lab and Human Development, along with 3 other courses but just those two require a lot of work!
My room is a mess! It seems as if all I do is study, eat, and sleep! I'm excited though!
Hang in there everyone!!!
Wow thanks everyone for the advice and for sharing your experiences. So far that is basically what I am doing.... I am maintaining myself organized, doing everything that needs to get done as soon as they release the assignments. No procrastination this semester!!!!
