well I was excited at first to be attending Gurnick academy of medical arts in Modesto ca but I'm having second thoughts and thought this would be the place to go for advice. I'm currently enrolled as a medical assistant but scored high enough to be a LVN and after some thinking wanted to switch programs. the admissions lady treated me very rude and said sharply that the class is full, I'm guessing since she already got my non refundable fee she doesn't care if I go or not anymore.
I haven't given up on this school but still feel I should explore other options like Kaplan. Problem is there aren't many schools in my area that provide the LVN program.
does anyone live in the 209 area that can help me out? have you been to Gurnick or Kaplan? how was your experience?

Hi, I am currently attending gurnick in Modesto. I'm just about to finish up my first module. My experience so far has been great all the instructors are very nice and they are very informative I feel like I have learned so much from them in a small amount of time. The workload is overwhelming since it is an accelerated program. Most weeks we usually have three tests and on top of that homework. Other than the workload being a little overwhelming I don't regret my decision to attend gurnick. I've learned so much in such a small amount of time and the days go by so fast I still can't believe I am almost done with my first module just have to take finals next week.

Im finishing up my 3rd module in Modesto. The program is good...a bit disorganized in some areas but overall had some great teachers. I agree the workload is overwhelming at times and hasn't gotten easier with more complex info.
I think every program would have its own set of pros and cons. Dont let a bad experience with an admission person you likely wont have much more contact with ruin your decision to continue your education.
