Hello everyone.
I just learned today that I have been accepted into the Fall 2016 ADN program at SWC. I am so grateful and overwhelmed by this opportunity!
However, I am an also alternate at San Diego City College. I BELIEVE I'll find out this Thursday if I am likely to get in or not. I need to respond to SWC by Monday.
I am wondering if any current students or graduates from either program could give me the scoop about their experiences. Or ever folks who know people in one, who work with students doing fieldwork with either program, or even who work/teach in these programs.
Both schools are accredited until 2021, so I am not worried there. SDCCD actually has a higher N-CLEX pass rates. SWC costs just $3,500 according to their website, and SDCCD is close to that from what I remember from a meeting I attended last year.
For whatever reason, I really liked the feel of the SDCCD campus. However, this SWC opportunity is a blessing and now that I sort of have this choice, I would deeply appreciate any advice, warnings, good words- anything about what you all might know about these programs.
Thank you!

My advice is to wait it out at SDCCD if that's your program of choice, but accept your seat at SWC as a backup plan. Good luck
Thank you for your response num916wth,
I would love if that could work- but I have to let SWC know by Monday. I'm not even sure I'll find out this Thursday about SDCCD, I am enrolled in an orientation course though I don't have a guaranteed seat. If I don't know Thursday, I suppose I am forced to go to SWC- which is fine. I guess I don't have a school of choice and that's what so overwhelming about this!

So tell SWC that you will attend there program and go to your orientation course at SDCCD. If you do get a seat at SDCCD then tell SWC you will no longer be attending. If you don't get a seat then go to SWC. The nursing program don't start till August so you don't have to commit yourself to any school until then So you do have choices it's a matter of are you willing to wait it out good luck
You know, you're right! Thank you
