SCSU ACE Program 2020

I wanted to get a thread together with those who are applying to Southern Connecticut State University's ACE Program for the Summer 2020 start. I still need to complete my essay and am in my last semester of prerequisites!

Has anyone heard anything regarding admission? I know the email says April 2020.

Looking at previous forums, some people started hearing back in march.

I just submitted my essays and prerequisite form today. Fingers crossed we hear back a little sooner than April. Good luck everyone!

Ahhh I’m submitting this Sunday or Monday and I’m very very very nervous. I cannot stop thinking about it!! Good luck guys

I also just finished my application! I uploaded the essay and checklist a few days ago but the website said the essay wasn't received but also wasn't giving me the option of uploading it anymore. Such a stressful few days! I called admissions this morning and they said it was all set and I literally feel like I'm walking on clouds now! ?

Now, to wait! So much waiting!! Anyone know how many applicants they usually have?

This wait is sooooo long. The only good thing is I'll hear back from most schools before SCSU Sends out decisions. I have no idea how many applications they receive, but i heard they only accept like 30 to 36 students.

I only applied to Southern so I'm really anxious. All the other accelerated programs had more prereqs or a cap on the number of years they're accepted. Where else did you apply?

I applied to a few direct entry NP programs and few accelerated BSN programs. So far I have been accepted to methodist college in Nebraska for the ABSN but I rather not go there as I'm from NY.

I applied to Fairfield's accelerated program and was accepted (yay!), but SCSU is my #1 choice. I also applied to Gateway's ADN program, but won't hear back for a while. However, I already live in New Haven, so SCSU is a much closer and cost-effective option for me.

I applied to University of Southern Maine and was accepted! However, their out of state tuition is really high so that’s my main issue with that school. Also waiting to hear back from Illinois State University. I would love to go to SCSU because I’m originally from CT but by the time I get any notification I will probably have already moved to Maine or Illinois. We’ll see what happens!

How's everyone taking the wait?!? ?

This wait is brutal. Are they really going to wait until April? I don't remember reading that in any email.

Agreed. I just checked my SCSU Application Acknowledgement email: "will be notified of your application decision no later than April 1, 2020." Previous years say that people started hearing early March, but things can always change.
