Scope for graduating Girlfriend.......

Hi all, little odd that I am registering on a nursing site but here goes:

Girlfriend is graduating in the next few months and plan on getting her a nice scope for a (somewhat?!) thoughtfull graduating gift, something a little more preplanned than some Old Navy clothes and dinner at AppleBees, ha.

So what would be the best scope available? I am thinking the Littman Master or maybe the new Littmann Soft Touch Cardiology STC Stethoscope?

Cost is not an issue, she's worth it! Is there anything more upscale than those or are those considered top of the line?

thanks in advance, keep up the good work people.:redbeathe

did a little more digging at allheart, would an electronic with ambient noise reduction be for something more specialized or would a 1st year nurse in most likely ER placement benefit from an electronic as well or is it just a pain in the butt with batteries, more bulkiness, etc.

Unless she's hard of hearing she shouldn't need electronic.

The Littmann cardiology master and the cardiology soft touch are both VERY good. I don't think you'll ever hear a bad review about either. I have the soft touch and it is great. I NEVER second guess what I hear anymore. It made a HUGE difference in my assessment skills.

For a more personal touch...have it engraved with her name and title before you give it to her.

Awww, I applaud you! Whatever you get make sure it's engraved with her name. Scopes have been known to "walk away" especially nice ones.
