Science Prerequisites

Hi everyone! I'm in a bit of a situation and I was hoping for some advice/tips/wisdom, literally ANYTHING that can help me.

I took all my prerequisites at a State college almost 2 years ago. I didn't realize how important it was to get A's on these classes, especially the GPA's required for the science courses. I got C's on Micro, A&P1, and A&P2. Obviously, that doesn't amount to an acceptable GPA in almost ANY nursing programs due to my science GPA alone.

I'm not here for judgment or pity, I know I should've done better, and I also know that I can do better. I had never even gotten a C ever In my life until Micro and the reason why all that downfall happened is just a story I don't even want to get into.

Anyways, I still want to pursue nursing. I currently work as a CNA and it's only made me realize just how much more I want to become a nurse. I've come across some questionable nurses (or even just nurses who are questionable people) and it honestly convinces me that if they can do it, so can I.

I have been out of school for the past 2 years just feeling stuck, not knowing what to do. I haven't even attempted to apply anywhere because I know I don't qualify. I just don't even know where to continue from here. I genuinely WANT to redo these science courses because I WANT a good foundation. However, I live in California (I'm not sure how other states are) and majority, if not all, programs here only accept 1 science course retake and it just makes me question my odds because mathematically, even if I got an A in my 1 retake, it's still not enough either way.

I know there's a good chance I will have to go the Private route and if that's what it takes, I'll do it. I do still want to take a chance at possible LVN programs out there too though, however I live in SoCal, so I'm looking for what's in my area.

So with that, does anyone know of any LVN programs that might not require science prerequisites because it's included in the program? Does anyone know of a good private school that will include the science courses so I can retake them all and have that foundation that won't cost me an arm and a leg?

Also, if anyone knows of any good online Anatomy & Physiology courses I can take on the side for my own learning benefit, I'd love to hear about those too. Or if anyone knows of online videos that will teach me the sciences. I'm even willing to listen to podcasts. I just want every bit of information as possible, class or not. I want the knowledge I need to become a great nurse one day.

Thanks in advance!
