Schools?

Just curious...

Where is everyone going to school at? What kind of NP program are you in? How are you liking it?

Hi! I'll be starting my NP program at UMASS in Worcester, MA this May 2006. At the end of the 2 yr program I'll have my MSN & will be an adult acute/critical care NP. I'm debating whether to sub-specialize in oncology, cardio or just general care. I feel like right now I am just interested in absolutely everything! So we'll see. :)

Cool! If you don't mind, I'd love to hear about the program as you get into it more! It's always nice to see what's out there in terms of schools, and what's good and what to stay away from. :)

I begin in the Fall at Vanderbilt University's Acute Care NP program in Nashville, TN.

Just outta curiosity, what does the 32C stand for in your name???

I played softball in college and high school and I was #32 and a catcher © so I have used that as my "screen name" ever since then. I only WISH it was for what you were thinking :imbar

Hi,

I am finishing up my first year at UMass Medical Graduate School of Nursing in the acute/critical care nurse practitioner program. I am enjoying it very much. We don't start clinicals until August. I am looking forward to getting into the units. I will say there is a strong emphasis on research. I also have had the luxury of working on a community service project with the critical care committee at UMass Memorial on improving family satisfaction in the ICUs. I think the program is great and really feel that I am being trained for the role.

That is great to hear because I have been worried that I won't feel prepared when I am finished. Thanks so much for your reply. It is encouraging to all of us who are just beginning and have no idea what to expect.
