School

Hi, I hava an associates degree in hospitality management . I also have many years experience working in long-term care facilities as a CMT/CNA.

I want to go back to school to get a. BSN but I'm afraid it might take me a long time to finish. I don't qualify for financial aid at the community college which I condidered to get an RN degree.

Please advice, thanks.

Talk to the school counselor to see how many courses you would need and what's required for admission. We cannot tell you how long it will take you to finish a degree. Good luck!

What is your idea of a "long time"?

The sooner you start, the sooner you finish. If you don't qualify for financial aid, you may still be better off going to the community college because it might be cheaper in the long run. Are you sure you qualify for NO financial aid? I don't think the federal aid determinations have been done yet for this year, which covers aid such as the Pell Grants and subsidized loans. Even if you don't get aid directly from the school you could still get aid from the federal programs.
