Scholarships?

I can't for the life of me find a scholarship in Maryland that would help me through school. I'm not a minority, and I am just starting out the nursing program at CSM. Is there any advice out there, or can you help me? This is a cry for help and IDK what to do... :redbeathe If you don't have any advice/help then please pray for me!

There is a state grant for nursing students (to help cover living expenses) - had to live and attend school in MD, and a requirement to work in MD after graduation. try http://www.mcfrsit.com/e%2Dlearning/ePCR/BLS1-personal.html

Try HRSA.gov - grants to attend school and even some to repay school loans once you are working.

Good luck!!! I too couldn't find anything - since I already had 2 degrees, had done financial planning for retirement, owned my own house and was debt and dependent free. Since I lived in MD, but was going to school in DC, I was not eligible for the MD grant.

I worked closely with the financial aide dept. at the college where I was going to school. Basically I wrote a 2 page narrative of my goals and gave it to them, and they submitted it for me to everything that I qualified for. I got a Geraldine M. Lechty scholarship, American Legion and the MD Nursing Tuition Scholarship. I recommend making an appt. with your financial aid dept. and having them help you. The scholarships I received were not contingent upon income qualifications or anything like that, and my GPA was never above 3.3 Good Luck!
