SCC Nursing Program

So I've recently received a placement to SCC's nursing program for fall of 2014. Everyone I've talked has told me SCC has terrible program. The instructors are unhelpful and mean, they have high failure rate and my co-worker's sister who went to SCC failed block 4. This is starting to freak me out! Is there anyone out there who went to this program? If so how was your experience? Should I be considered?

I currently go to SCC an can tell you that you have been lied to. I'm guessing whoever told you this is sullen and mad for something that is nt the school fault. SCC has a decent passing rate in comparison to the other MCCD schools and NCLEX pass rate is high. Keep in mind that many times, when people fail they will try to find fault with anyone but themselves. The block 1 instructors are fantastic. They lecture everything that is on tests, and reading is supplemental for if you don't understand. If you have questions they will make time to help you. They have a brand new building with a pretty nice sim lab. The instructors want you to pass. I have yet to meet someone in my class who hates the school, though I can imagine there are probably a few. Don't sweat what other people say. I they had tried harder they would have passed and would be telling you how fantastic the acho is. Just work hard, focus on school, and you will see for yourself what a great program SCC has.

Also keep in mind, when schools have a high failure rate, or low NCLEX pass rate, the state BON gets involved. Seeing as we are not being investigated by the BON the program is fine.

Mrsboots, thanks for the insights. I went to the campus today and spoke to few first block students. From what I've perceived everyone seems to like it. No one had anything negative to say. Now I feel a lot better. I'm excited and nervous...August needs come here already! Lol. Good luck on your last few days of classes and finals. :-)

wrong scc sorry
