Scared to go back

Hi guys,

So I'm an LPN and an RN nursing student going into my second out of 3 semesters (Technically 3/4 but I started in semester 2 due to being an LPN). I guess I'm just really nervous to start this semester. I struggled a lot last semester, but somehow made it through with a C+. I know I can do it....but I'm just so scared of all the homework, clinical work, rotations, everything.

Can anyone give me advice? I haven't felt this way since LPN school. I'm scared. Classes start back up in about a week. ?

Edit- I should note that I've started reading the content that has been given to us. It makes me super anxious, though. Some of it is familiar content, but I'm still so scared and I don't know why.

Sit down and take some deep breaths. It's okay to feel nervous. Just because you know you can do something, it doesn't mean it's not going to be a challenge, and it can seem a bit scary.

I just started my final semester of RN school last week. Granted I don't feel as nervous about this class/clinical as I did about my last class, but I still am quite a bit nervous, especially for clinical. I'm doing med-surg 3 now, and it's been a year since I last did a med-surg clinical (1). My last two clinicals (med-surg 2 and OB/peds) were virtual. The last normal clinical I did was mental health, and that definitely didn't involve the same things as med-surg. I know I can get through it. Heck, I made it this far. But like I said, I'm still nervous.

Just take things one week, one day, one assignment at a time. Your mind can read get bogged down when you're thinking about too much at a time. Hope this helped at least a little!

Thank you so much. This rotation is med-surg and mental health. I'm excited!

I'm also going to be putting "Just because you know you can do something, it doesn't mean it's not going to be a challenge" on my note/motivation wall. Thank you.

No problem. Glad I could help!
