what to say at interviews

I have a question for all those who entered the ICU knowing you planned on leaving soon to begin CRNA school (once accepted of course!). How did you approach this at your interview for your job at the hospital?

Did you tell them you plan on leaving within a year or two to go on to CRNA school, and risk that they would not take you?

Or, did you act as though your plans were to stay and then suddenly one day just ask for a recommendation letter?

Any tips on how to handle the "what does your future look like" type of questions???

Thanks all!!

I was upfront with the nurse manager during the interview, however, when it came down to asking for a reference, she refused. So I went to her boss, and he offered to fill one out for me. I would recommend keeping it under wraps until you have satisfied all pre-requisites, shadowing, etc... and are ready to submit your application, then ask.

I would be honest with stating your 5 year goal to be in a Masters program, however, you do not have to state which area/concentration.

Yeah I would keep the whole thing underwraps until you are ready to apply. Some people aren't that excited to see other advance themselves.
