Savannah Tech?

I graduated from the LPN program there last year. I did my core classes then just waited over the summer and was accepted. So I didn't have to wait but I've heard where there are others who have. It depends on your GPA and if you have had to retake core classes over again or not.

Anyone attend Savannah Tech for LPN? Was there a waiting list?

I'm in my last quarter of pre-reqs at Savannah Tech. The LPN program only admits in the spring and fall so I'm hoping I'll make it for spring '08. I've heard different things about the waiting list. As ggal2933 said, I think it depends on your gpa and if you've had to repeat courses. Also, I know someone who got a letter saying she didn't make into this fall's program only to get a call right before classes started that she had a spot because someone else dropped.

I'm considering taking CNA courses over the winter quarter just in case I don't get into the spring LPN classes. At least that way I won't be sitting idle until fall '08.

Hi, my sister goes to Savannah Tech, I went to school in Statesboro for Ultrasound, but now Im in Vadalia for LPN. Your GPA is the only thing that will get you out of waiting. In other words, try to make all A's!! I know it is hard, but that is why their is such a long list!! I know excatly how you feel. Nobody tells you what you really have to expect, so I hope this helps..

thanks everyone! I just have a feeling this is gonna be tough! and I'm only in the begining. My diet and nutrition class that I thought was going to be easy is the worst, I think it might have been best to take it on-line. The teacher doesn't teach.

I took it online and came away with an A but we didn't have any study guide for what would be on the tests so you pretty much had to try and remember it all. I don't know who you have but sorry to hear he/she isn't teaching anything.

I don't recommend taking A&P online as that is a hard class to begin with and several people have regretted taking it online, especially since you need at least a B to get into the program. I have Mrs. S and she does a good job of teaching the material as well as letting you know what to expect on the tests. But it is not an easy class as there is so much to learn in each chapter.

If you read, read, read you should do well!

I took Med Terminology last quarter and taking A&P this quarter. The teacher I have for A&P recommended taking A&P first when someone in the class asked her but I don't think it matters a whole lot. You will learn basic A&P in Med Term so you might consider it getting your feet wet. On the other hand, if you take A&P first, you might find it easier to memorize the Med Term words.

I made an A in it with Mr. T but the teacher I have for A&P also teaches it and she would be good if you plan to take her for all the classes she teaches. I also have her (Mrs. S) for Intro to Healthcare. Unfortunately we have a test in both classes on the same day so I'm a little stressed out with studying for them both at the same time. It's not hard stuff, just ALOT of stuff.

But I think in my case taking Medical Terminology first hasn't hurt at all. The only reason I wish I had taken A&P first is that it would already be over with! You might want to take it first just for that reason :)

I don't think it matters too much. I took Medical Term first with Mrs. M (her class was once during the week in the evenings over at Memorial) then I waited to take A&P for my very last core class and took it with Mrs. S. They are both great teachers. Good luck!
