Does anyone have an idea of how much a LPN is getting paid in AZ with about 5 years experience? Specifically Mesa area? I also have just graduated with my associated but am waiting to take the NCLEX-RN. I have went on salary.com and a few other sites to do some research, but I was hoping to find someone who could validate it for me. I don't want to shoot myself out of the water by putting an amount too high or worse settling for less. Thanks in advance!:)

Hi,

I too have my LPN for about 3 years and recently finished school for my RN and test in July. I work at a Banner Hospital and their pay range for LPN's is 17-22/hr, although they are not currently hiring. And census has been low so I am only getting in a shift or two per pay period. Recently I started looking into home health agencies Nursing Solutions pays $20/hr for shift work varies from 4-12 hrs depending on what you want, no benefits though. MGA pays 21.50 hr.

Also, in the nursing homes you can get pool positions starting at $24 hr, if you can get them. Its just slow everywhere right now.

Where did you go to school?

In the Phoenix-Mesa-Scottsdale, AZ area the median pay for an LPN is 20.86 per hour. The salary ranges from 13.26 to 28.70. I would think that with 5 years experience you should easily qualify for the median wage.

You can do specific research at http://www.bls.gov/oco/ocos102.htm the occupational code is 292061. The government site isn't as slick as the commercial sites, but has the advantage of reporting reliable data. (The commercial sites depend on self reporting and often report inflated numbers.)

Thanks guys! I have put several app's in with the new Mountain Vista in Mesa but haven't heard anything back yet. I stayed in the lower range of pay according to the salary ranges that you all gave.

Needinginfo: I graduated from Central Ohio Technical College, located in Newark Ohio.
