Salary for Private Practice?

Published

I'm a new grad and have been interviewing for a position with a private oncology practice. My responsibilities will run the gamut from assessing to educating to eventually administering chemo (after OCN). Around here the hospitals all have a set starting rate for new grads - about $18.50.

What would be considered "fair" in private practice?

Thanks!

Salaries for RN's in a physician's office used to be lower (by several dollars per hour) than salaries in the hospital setting. This is now changing, at least in the larger physician practices. Many of these practice settings are similar to "mini-hospitals" with sophisticated outpatient services and nurses' salaries should be commensurate to those in the inpatient setting.
