RN 30 unit option

Hi.  
Hope all is well @nursedt. I have some questions if you don't mind me asking.  I went to a really horrible school to obtain my RN completed the whole program including clinicals but they won't provide me with my degree due to not passing their exit exam.  I challenged LVN board and passed.  I would like to challenge RN 30 unit option now that I have my license.  Is this possible because at this point it's my only option to receive my RN license.  Thank you in advance 

Hey!  You would still need to attend a year program to be able to sit for the NCLEX-RN.  You might as well do an ADN program.  I did the 30 unit option "back in the day" and now have progressed to BSN, MSN, FNP, DNP.  

I attended on and completed it but just didn't get my diploma.

Yeah, but there are programs that will let you do their RN-BSN out there, even without a diploma.  That's why they are RN **** to BSN LOL

your giving me hope im apply in Georgia but they're giving me a hard time. I currently have a licenec in NY

The problem is that schools (especially private ones) do not "accept" students to their 30 unit programs because they want people to commit to a 2-3 RN program for 140K +. The state should put limits on these outrageous tuition charges.

To all who have done the 30-unit option. Here is my situation: I attended a community college from 1999 to 2003, completing all semesters. At that time, it was easier to attend Excelsior College, where I completed a Bachelor of Science in Health Science degree—challenged to boards for my LPN in 2004. Been LPN for 20-plus years, have a Master's in Human Services counseling with 300 hours in clinical counseling. I am going to apply without going to any more schools. Will they license me? And if so, what is the courses needed to sit for licensure? I have all prereqs completed. Advance psychopharmacology, Ethics, End of Life care courses, health informatics, writing of the health professions, AP, Human biology, etc.From undergrad to Graduate, Human growth and development to fundamentals of nursing to medsurg, ob gyne, Advanced courses in health critical care, health of populations, aids, etc. Any help would be good. Can you help?

@Nursedt can you help me. I need advice. [email protected] into applying I have two masters finished with my diploma in nursing graduated missed the cutoff for my boards and now having to repeat this all over again. I really don't know what to do but apply for the 30 unit option. I have liked at all the colleges in California all these classes I have completed in school. What and how do they calculate the units for the 30 unit option. 30 units equal what classes like general psych 3 credits equal 1 unit? 

Why not take a refresher course or sit the LVN exam? 

I have a LPN licensure. Been working for 25 years.

I cannot do a refresher course.

I was told from another state I been out to long and should have sat for my NCLEX if failed that would have made me eligible. Nursedt can you help me please??
