Hey I am new to this and all i wanted to ask was the steps to becoming a RN in Dallas Tx. I'm a Sophomore at a high school in Dallas. I want to know the steps i should take after high school or if there's anything i can be doing right now to get a head start to becoming a RN. It would be nice if a RN would respond and share their experiences with me. Thank you.

There are some good resources that you can look into about becoming a nurse in Texas:
The Texas BON website.
-The link will take you to the main page. On that page, you will find a link to a section designed for students. This section includes approved programs and NCLEX pass rates.
Accredited program searches
-Attending an accredited program can facilitate your eligibility to continue your education after your initial degree. Also, because some areas are seeing more new grad nurses than new grad job openings, some employers have also begun requiring graduation from an accredited program.
-The Accreditation Committee for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredits all types of nursing programs and offers an option to search for accredited programs on their website.
-The American Association of Colleges of Nursing Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accredits baccalaureate, graduate, and residency programs. They also offer an option to search for accredited programs on their website.
Another thing to do is to research job postings in your area. Because some areas are seeing more applicants than positions, job openings may state that a BSN is required or preferred. Know what the job market is like in your area so that you can plan your education accordingly.
