I have been out of the nursing field for 7 years. I am ready to return to nursing, but lack confidence related to my skills and current nursing trends. Attempts to find an RN refresher course are confusing. Any suggestions? Thanks so much!

Maybe you could reach out to your BON to see if they have a list of approved refresher courses. That might be a good place to start.

I've also been out of the field for a long time (8 yrs) and have researched refresher courses. I recommend looking at the board of nursing site for your state and see if they have any recommended courses listed. If not, you could try calling or emailing to see which ones they recommend. That way you know you are getting something accredited. Also, you might try to pick the most well-known organization available, so that any place that will hire you knows it was a reputable course and not just some willy-nilly bargain course.
Thank you for the recommendations! I appreciate it.

Hi Jenny, I am signed up for Delaware State University starting in a couple of weeks. I live in a different state but their RN refresher program qualifies for several states when I looked into it.
