RN to MSN

Hello,

I am graduating from nursing school pretty soon and would like to continue my education. I have heard about AND to MSN program. Does anyone know schools that offer this? Thank you.

Just off the top of my head, I know University of Maryland, University of Alabama at Birmingham, Stevenson University in Maryland. If you google this, you'll find a lot of universities offer this option. I just know about those 3 in particular because I'm currently in an ADN program in MD and I'm from AL and may be moving back soon.

Congratulations on your upcoming graduation. Good luck in your search for schools!:yeah:

Congrats on graduation!!!

Both of my sisters-in-law are nurse practitioners and I have several friends that have CRNP and other advanced nursing degrees. When I mentioned that I'd like to go for an advanced degree they ALL suggested that I work on the "floor" or in the ER or OR for a few years before going back to school. One of my in-laws said that the few girls she works with that went straight into an advanced degree program have no respect on the floor or in the OR or where ever they work because they have no true experience.

As much as I want to keep the momentum going with school, i do see their point about working as an RN for a while before you do.

Thank you for your suggestions; I will deffenetly research those universities :)

VCU has an RN-MSN program; just went to an information session about it actually. Thing is though they only accept 10 or less students and I was told most programs like this want you to have some RN experience before they will accept you.
