RN-BSN programs in washington state.

could you direct me to which programs are the best in the state? i have looked at UW bothell and UW tacoma and can't tell a difference, but i thought that someone might have some inside info, like which has the better teachers or which has a better reputation.

thank you in advance. thinking of moving to the pacific northwest, so info on other universities that offer RN-BSN would be great. portland etc. etc.

Sorry, I don't have any input on which schools are "better".

I can tell you that University of Washington in general has a good reputation.

Most of the nurses I know who have or in the process of gettingtheir BSN chose Washington State University because they have programs geared toward people who are working & going to school and several locations around the state.. http://www.it.wsu.edu/AIS/ADM/cgi-bin/ug_majors.cgi?college=06

Another option is Gonzaga in Eastern, WA which offers both a BSN & an MSN http://www.gonzaga.edu/Academics/Colleges+and+Schools/School+of+Professional+Studies/Nursing/default.htm

As for Portland schools the only one I know of that offers an RN to BSN program is Oregon Health Sciences University. http://www.ohsu.edu/son/

I live in SW Washington, the 2 schools I can choose from for a graduate degree are WSU & OHSU. If money were no object my personal preference would be OHSU due to its reputation and extensive clinical opportunities.

Portland also has an RN-to-BSN program through Linfield College. Here's there website: http://www.linfield.edu/portland/nursing/index.html You can go to classes at their campus or do their online program. The college is located in a great area of town, too! The street trolley runs right next to it. It is a very hip area with a lot of shops. It is right across the street from Good Samaritan Hospital (part of Legacy). I thought they offered an RN to BSN but didn't see it when I looked at the site (which is kind of embarrassing since the info is pretty obvious).

And they have an online program ! :)

If you live in the area, the UW bothell program would be the way to go. It not only has an incredible reputation and inimitable program, the tuition is not that bad considering.

If you were looking into an RN-BSN online program, look at the Intercollegiate College of Nursing http://www.wsu.edu
