Resume for Nursing School

Hi everyone!

I want to include a resume with my nursing applications. Does anyone have any suggestions, ideas as to how I can create a resume that would standout? Are there websites that I can refer to? Thanks in advance.

I will admit that I am a resume buff! :) I LOVE to do resumes (I do all my friends and family resumes all the time!). Resumes should be customized for the type of position you are applying for (in your case, using it to apply to nursing schools). You need to figure out what you want to portray to the admissions committee. Do you just want to give them a general overview of your work experiences (to show you are a non-trad student), to really show-off your work accomplishments, to show the tremendous amont of responsibility you had at past jobs, etc.? After you do that, you need to choose a layout that best suits you -- I use an abundance of free sources but I have found the best source is Microsofts Template page (goto google and type if microsoft templates and it is the first link to pop-up). Wording your resume is also another tricky thing -- I advise you to use a lot of action verbs/words. I think resume writing is almost an art within itself and takes a lot of practice to learn how to write an award-winning resume. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.
