I have a question, I am currently a new RN searching for jobs. I have several resumes that I have posted online. How critical is the cover page and does anyone have any advice to help me be an "eye catcher"

i'd actually not do a cover letter, unless they specifically ask for one. if you arent a great writer, i think it actually hurts rather than helps. there is more to criticize you about if you include one and it isnt top-notch.

Here is some of the things that the nurse recruiter commented on RE my resume:\
A professional profile at the top that details my strengths and experience
Individually listing my clinical experience, number of hours and what I learned
Good grammer, god vocabulary, and reads fluidly
Also, use key words in your resume and cover letter specific to the position. For example, if the position is in Peds, use the words children and pediatric. If it's an OB postion, use postapartum, baby, maternal, neonatal, obstetrics, etc. This is helpful when a company uses electronic word recognition.
Perfect spelling and grammer is key. Have someone with experience review and proof read both your resume and cover letter. Look up examples online to help you with the writing. Play up your strengths, leave out your weaknesses. Good luck!

Would you look at mine? I am interested in changing positions, and just am not getting any bites on my current resume. If you can't, I completely understand.
