Hello nurses!
I am seeking advice for my resume and would appreciate any advice. I graduated from an associate nursing program in 2016. My plan was to get my BSN soon after my ADN graduation, but unfortunately I was not able to go back to school right away. Fast forward, I graduated with my BSN in December 2018. I am currently working on a medical surgical unit and I am seeking other nursing jobs. Now my question is, can I put just my BSN degree on my resume or do I have to include my ADN too? I am asking because there is over a year gap on my resume and I'm afraid the question will be brought up in future interviews. Due to personal reasons, I did not work as a nurse right after I graduated with my ADN. When I was interviewed for my current job (med-surg), the nursing director asked me about it. I was honest about it and told her my personal story. I don't want to leave a gap in my resume so what can I do? Any advice please?

Employers are more interested in gaps in employment and not gaps in degrees. There are plenty of ASN nurses that worked as RNs for many years before getting their BSN. Future employers wont care that they had a 10 yr gap between ASN and BSN.
