Relocating to California

Would anyone know of any good California recruiters or agencys (hospital and non-hospital) that I could contact to learn more about moving to California? I graduate next year, and it is early to apply for jobs, but would want to begin to be in touch with potential hospitals.

Suggest you look into http://www.nurseweek.com (which is part of Nursing Spectrum). It has alot of info on CA hospitals and job opportunities. Also, you might want to decide in which part of CA you want to live. SF, LA, and SD pay the most and have a hight cost of living due to the coastal locations.

Hey, Gomer -- I just talked to a recruiter today...and they do phone interviews then offer jobs... good precepting time...big facility...but wage was starting ADN at 28.50... goes up 5 percent in 10 months...yearly up another 5percent avg... and that is the only raise..

I hear about hospitals in SanFran giving raises 2x a year..etc...so is this a bad deal that I've described? Also it's in an expensive area of W.LA... so I imagine I could not even afford to live on that.....

It's a bummer (the living thing!) b/c I could walk right into my dream job.... either of them!! Even DAY shift.... sigh.... I am not sure how I'd swing it tho.

I would docus on gettign thru your program and getting the NCLEX exam done and passed. Not one thing can be done until then for you, and job needs change consdierably from one year to the next. The agency you contact now may not even have work where you want it next year.

You are going to need to pass the NCLEX exam, and nothing can be submitted until you actually graduate and ahve a completed set of transcripts and a Visa Screen Certificate. That is required for you to get the TN Visa at the border, along with a written job offer.

You are looking much too early, especially if you are from another country and will require more time to complete documents.
