Referrals for accelerated BSN program

I am submitting my application to an accelerated BSN program by June. I am currently a hospice CNA. The three people I had wanted to ask were:

1) a nurse I work with

2) my supervisor

3) someone I have done many hours of home health care for (both for her through many surgeries, and for her mom)

I have two concerns. They would prefer that one referral be academic. All of my prereqs were done online, and I graduated college in 1989 so it's been a while! No academics I can think of to ask other than my PhD brother and many friends...

My other concern is that I have only been in my job for 3 months. I have gotten excellent reviews, but I'm wondering if three months will seem too little.

Any advice/suggestions? Thank you!!

Hello,

Everyone is unique. If there anywhere in your application that you can mentioned how long you have been working as a CNA, that you have been out of school for X amount of years, and why now you have decided to join nursing school (probably due to family priorities... like being a mom or direct caretaker of a loved one)... I think they will understand. Be sincere with your story and let your heart guide you. God will open the doors that are meant for you.

Stay positive.
