referesher course

Just wondering if anyone knows any refresher courses for LVN's in the state of Texas. I am wanting to go back into the field of nurshing but have not renewed my license and will have to do a refresher course. Is there any of the colleges that offer an online course and then clinicals at hospitals or clinics? Thank you for any help in this matter.

If you do not hold a current license, then the routine refresher courses are not for you. You must hold a valid license for them.

Routine refresher courses are for those that have continued to hold licensure.

You may wish to check directly with the BON to see which facilities or schools will meet their requirements for you.

If you have been away from the field for a certain number of years, they may also require that you rewrite the NCLEX-PN exam.

I know that Austin Community College has a wonderful refresher course. It includes classes as well as clinical with a preceptor. i just hired a nurse who went through the course.

Good Luck.

Check with the Board. They have a list and will make recommendations depending on the status of your license and the area in which you will be working. Some of the courses are online (maybe all are now)
