Record as a Minor

When I was 14, I was arrest for stealing at Kohl's. I was taken in to do my fingerprints and then sat in Juvie for a few hours. Will this stop me from getting my license? I haven't been arrested for anything else but that. It is a minor record, and I thought that it wouldn't matter since I did it as a minor. I live in Texas.

    I'm currently working on my Associates at a community college and plan on transferring to UTHSC when I am done... I know they do a background check for there too. I also checked my own record through Tx DPS criminal history check and nothing came up.

    The best people to ask this question of is the Texas BON, as they are the ones who will license you. You can do it anonymously by e-mail if you prefer.

    I would also talk to a lawyer about getting your juvenile record sealed, if it's not already.
