Surfing channels over the weekend, I came across the movie "Reality Bites" - and remembered how much I loved it. It was from 1997 - about 4 college grads who are having a really difficult time finding jobs and making the transition to adulthood. It was a very accurate reflection of what Houston (where it was filmed) was like at that time. It just reminded me that this economic mess we're in will eventually pass, and times will get better.

I hate to say it, but I think this mess will pass in years, not months. Hunker down, know it will improve, but do what you can to save yourself. This is a depression, no matter what the media states. Reality Bites was filmed during a QUASI-recession. I lived and worked in that era, as did tons of nursing friends-- jobs aplenty. Nowhere near as bad as we are now.
