Re-locating

Nurses Career Support

Published

Hello,

Where is the best place to find out where I can work as an LPN besides the board. I work in Ohio and would like to re-locate to North Carolina or possible South Carolina. I cannot find this info on the Ohio Board website. When I call they usually don't answer and I have left 14 messages with no return phone call. I just want to know if I have to take a test or if it is reciprocal and just have to apply to the state in which I want to work. Also possible looking into becoming a traveling nurse. Do you feel there are plenty of traveling nurse positions for LPN's out there. Thanks so much for all of your help.

Each state makes its own rules for licensure. So, you need to contact the licensure authority for the states you're interested in. Be sure you're contacting the right agency, as these may differ - some states have a combined board (RN & LP/VN) while others are separate.
