The class is very fast paced I understand that but our teacher is very abusive. She "barks" out orders instead of helping. She's verbally abuses the entire class. I was told I was holding up the class, she makes me feel "so nervous" when doing "skills" I forget what I'm suppose to say at the end! I do good in the beginning with Indirect care, etc...
I wonder how can a school let a person that acts like this be around people, it's scary. It's not worth it to me! I will have to go elsewhere. I refuse to be spoken to like this. It's a shame I can't get a refund, but I'll chalk it up to experience. Now my dreams are shattered I really love this field. Are all the teachers nasty?
I will find a different school elsewhere and find out who the teacher is first and maybe get to meet them prior.

Was this a private school or program? How much did it cost?
I would speak to the administration and explain your concerns about the instructor. I would also say that you are there to get an education, not pay to be abused and humiliated in front of others.
I would also insist that if there are no alterntative instructors, that they refund your fees [depending on how long you have been in the class]. You did not get what you bargained for when you enrolled in the class.
Just my thoughts...

I agree with nobhill. Stick up for yourself. The worst that can happen is you got it off your chest and still no refund. The best that could happen is that you get a refund and they take notice of your concerns with this teacher. Best wishes in finding a suitable course so that you can progress with your nursing education and get working.
Thank you so much for your responses. It was very encouraging and supportive. I will tell this school what's going on (the instructor does this to all the students).
This is a private place (not held in a college) with only one instructor for the CNA class. The cost $819, books were $70. So far paid $470. Students pay weekly. I hope they don't make me pay the balance.
I'd rather start over somewhere else and be willing to pay where each student can be respected as a human being.

they make you pay weekly? in that case, they must assume students to drop out, and prorate the cost..but anywho..
I owuld say something to someone, especially since she is the one instructor..you may come to find out you aren't the one complaint, and yours is what it will take for action to otake place. The worst that could happen; no refund, and the teacher is repremanded, or fired. In a best case senario, you get your $$ back, and the teacher is replaced. Either way, something positive comes out of it. If she is replaced, it would be nice of the school/organization to offer you a seat in the next class :)
