Questions / UAB

Hello all! I am applying to the masters nursing program at UAB for fall 2017. Wondering if anyone else is working on or completed the application process? I am mainly interested in the FNP track, but the application prompts you to select a 2nd choice. Any advise on this one? I really prefer the FNP. I think it's the best fit for me, but I assume it's very competitive, so I don't want to run the risk of not being accepted by not selecting a 2nd choice. Tips?

I didn't put a second choice, and don't feel it hurts me at all.

Thanks! I don't think I will enter a 2nd choice. I called and they said it's optional, and you do, you can request a change of concentration later, but not a guarantee it will be granted.

With some schools, applying to two tracks hurts you, since the committee may find you unclear of your goals. Not sure if that applies to UAB

Thanks! Good point.

I submitted my application and did not select a second choice either.

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to jump on this thread and say I also applied to UAB for fall 2017. I applied for the psych NP track and did not choose a 2nd option. The deadline is this Friday, and they said we will find out decisions 60 days after that. I think the waiting might kill me! Good luck to everyone.

I applied to the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner track for Fall 2017 and did not choose a second choice, either.

Can I just say this wait is killing me? How are you guys coping?
