Question for those waitlisted

Also curious if anyone has any feedback on St. V' s program. Haven't really looked into them just due to the cost. Was looking at their accelerated RN program.

Community college is very competitive absolutely retake anything below a B maybe even a B+

Honestly look into some of the other colleges in CT. I ultimately decided with University of Saint Joseph and it was great for me. There was a large cost but their financial aid department worked a lot with me; way more then some of the other colleges in the area. And everyone was accepted there was no competing for seats, you simply had to maintain your grades.

I think you are more likely to be waitlisted at a community college since the number of applicants are greater when compared to a traditional school.

I am looking at applying again to the CCC, may be one private BSN program, and West Conn.

Going to retake the TEAS in August feel able to achieve an 80 or higher with AP2 under my belt.

Little monkey wrench of AP2 maybe end being a C+ or B-. Debating to retake it in the Fall or Spring. If I retake it in the Fall I won t have to worry about buying a new lab book or buying the online program again. I figure I am going to retake it to raise my GPA up again.

My only concern is have to take Chem 1 this Fall I heard it is tough. I have to take it with a math class little worried about the load. Up until now been taking only 2 classes per semester.

Also don't want to keep spending money on various prerequites for various programs and go no where with it.

Have to do some thinking if not accepted into a program in Late Spring of next year and figure out what's next. Thinking maybe PTA, nutritionist, or MSW. Only bummer with PTA I heard is the last semester basically have to quit your job.

Chemistry is hard very hard I think it is ultimately what waitlisted me C+ I did get off the waitlist but I retook so many things. You shouldnt switch degree majors if your dream is to be a nurse. You just have to persevere. I did not want to come out of school wlith a 50K loan. If it us less then a B or B+ even retake it. I did, english 101 retook, sociology, chemistry, a lot of community college students do. Take your teas over and over the questions are the same. The test is always the same I took it three times. take the math over the summer and the chem in the fall, do the ap over again in the summer so they use your new grade and not the other one.

It's a tough call. Some might say I am still young, 30. Want to start a family and have a stable career though.

Might look into an MSW go for an LCSW.

Really enjoyed Chem. One program thought of applying to had Physics for nursing, think I enjoy that. I wouldn't mind if nursing doesn't pan out a caterer utilizing sciences like Chemistry and Physics.

I was thinking of taking Math or AP this Summer. Hesitant with Math. Took an online math class that was College Algebra PreCalc it was a disaster. 4 to 6 chapters a week. Midterm and Final was in class. The class was six weeks long. Wondering if just strictly online math class be any better.

Hi, so I applied to two community colleges nursing programs in my area. The way it works is if waitlisted at your "first choice" you are not accepted until they reach your number. For the second choice they have to exhaust their waitlist number then you are could be potentially picked.

I am a bit uncertain if Accelerated is the way to go for me. I tried an accelerated online math class once and was the worse experience ever had. Achieved D's and F's in the entire program.

My options are just apply to Associate program's or Associate & Bachelor program's.

If I apply to both Associate and Bachelor program's have to take various prerequisites for various programs. So have to take Intro to Physics, College Algebra Pre Calc, Chem 1, Chem 2, Inorganic Chem, Lifespan & Development, Stats, and a few other classes. I would be applying to 4 to 5 program's instead of 2.

However, if I stick with the ADN plan I am already done with prerequisites and regular classes for the program. I probably end up taking Lifespan and retake AP2. I would take Math again, but would wait until my application is in for the next class. They take your highest level Math class, which is an A. The Spring would probably take Stats and Spanish next Spring.

So far my grades are:

A - Intermediate Algebra

B - Intro to Chemistry

B- - AP1

C+ - AP2

73 on the TEAS

B - Intro to Psychology

2.91 GPA this GPA doesn't factor in my grade for AP2 and Micro. Micro grade I don't know yet. I am hoping for a B- or higher. If I do receive a B- in Micro I'll land somewhere in a 2.89 to 2.9 overall GPA.

I would also probably take the TEAS again because I did decent on every section outside of Science. My weakest issue was the AP section since I took the TEAS with limited AP knowledge; think just finished AP1 when I took the TEAS.

If I can achieve an A in AP2 think that help my chances of being accepted into the ADN program. Think if I took Chemistry and AP2 together could risk another B- lowering my GPA. Also I feel confident in taking Lifespan can achieve a B+ or higher.

I know a BSN is hot right now. My job is making nurses be registered in a BSN program by 2020. I would probably look into doing an RN to MSN online program if I did do the ADN route.

So decided to go for the ADN after some mulling over this. Trying to decide to do AP1 and AP2 together this Fall. I am concerned if I do AP1 and am able to achieve an A or higher. I don't do AP2 I do AP2 in the Spring how will my C+ in AP2 affect me.

Retake a&p I, yes the C+ is not great, but 25% of admissions criteria is based on A&P I alone. Your GPA is killing your chances. Retake your lower ones. The CT community colleges are numbers driven. You can do this! My friend had a lower Teas score and finally got in after finally getting an A- in a&p I. Good luck.
