Question

Hi,

I have a few questions. I have about a yr exp working in psych and med surg. What else is there bedside nursing?

Do I have to have med surg exp to go any where else, because honestly I don't like it all. No offense to the nurses that love med surg I don't.

I do love psych, I'm also interested in OR and community health.

Thanks :)

Lindsay

You can always apply to an OR that has a training program that accepts RNs. You can always apply to a psych unit. Public health jobs usually require a BSN.

I have a BSN. Do I need med surg exp for the OR or public health jobs?

no, you do not need med surg experience in those jobs. The employer will consider any experience a plus, but the practice differs so much that you will need to be trained anyway. Good luck.
