Question

Hi, I've only took two symesters at college.

But in the future I want to become an LVN can you PLEASE tell what the prerequisites are... and how long it takes to study and become an LVN. And what is the differance between an LVN and an RN...

PLEASE answer Thankyou :)))

The pre-requisites depend on the college you want to go to. Is there a nursing school at the college you are attending? Is there a program for LVNs? Most college websites will show you both the pre-reqs for your major plus the other general ed classes necessary for graduating with an associates degree. The difference between an LVN and RN is that LVNs do more practical work, like giving shots, taking vitals signs. An RN would do both the practical and likely have additional skills they are able to perform as well as physical assessments and decision making. They get another year of school and get paid more.

Thankyou SOO much for your reply! :)

No, there is no such thing at my college, I go to Sac City College. And I'm a beginer.

Here's a list of colleges in California that have LVN/LPN programs. Looks like a lot of "for profit" schools. You may want to sit down with a counselor at your current community college and ask about programs in your area as well as costs associated. It should take anywhere from 2 to 3 years to finish your program.
