Question

Hi, everyone, I am new here. Just applying for nursing license, really need some help here, like where can I get my fingerprint card done in Hong Kong since I live here, does anyone knows about it? Thanks

hi. welcome to allnurses.com.

There are not much posters from Hong Kong here.

You may try asking your nearest police station and ask who or what sub-dept. does this who is authorized to do a professional finger printing. Let them see the card to let them know that is for the FBI, DOJ or a US 3rd party fingerprint scanning facility. It can be rejected by US facilities if not done properly and will request you to re-do it. Making you waste precious time.

In the Phils. it is not done in police stations/departments because they can only do casual fingerprinting and the ones who are only authorized are those in the NBI (Phils. equivalence to US' FBI).

Hope this helps.

Thanks Lawrence01, I will do what you've suggested, and I will ask the police station see if they have the fingerprint card since I don't have one. Wish me luck!

They do not have the fingerprintcard. Which State are you applying for?

You have to request your respective State BON/BRN to send you one. You can request for the application packet as well or just download the application forms.

Oh, my, now I think the whole thing will take ages. I am applying for CA, because my sister lives there. I think there's no way to get it done sooner. Never mind. Thank you for taking time to answer all my questions. Take care!

Delivery time is on ave. 2-4 weeks upon request from CA BRN's website: http://www.rn.ca.gov but the entire length for the application process is 4-6 months.

Request your fingerpring cards from the CA Board of Registered Nursing, that is what I did, then go to the nearest Police station to have your fingers printed on the card.
