Question about shift differentials...

Published

Hi all, I just got a job offer for a health unit coordinator, and along with my base salary, I was told that there were shift differentials ($1.25, $2.25 and $2.75), but it wasn't explained what the criteria is for these S/D. Can anyone help to explain? I'll be working at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Florida...

TIA,

Kris

It might be Weeknights, Weekend Days, and Weekend Nights.

AT the hospital where I work, we have shift diff like this . . . 20% of base pay for weeknights, 30% of base for weekend days, and 50% of base for weekend nights.

I work weekend nights, so I get time and a half for every hour I work.

hope this helps.

In places I've worked, there was generally a shift diff for evening shift and night shift. Where I work now, an additional differential is added (on top of the others) for the weekend.
