question from a new member.

hi everyone!!! my name is chrissi and i am a student getting ready to graduate with my lpn in 3 months. i am starting to stress about nclex but our program is doing alot of review with us and have signed us up for an on line review class plus another review class.. so i am hoping that all goes well wtih that. i just have a quick question--- i am interested in doing oncology and am going to continue on to get my rn and then my np but i was wondering if anyone knew if an lpn could be chemo certified?? or does anyone know where to direct me to find out? any help would be greatly appreciated ! thanks!!!

hi chrissi.

your question's answer will depend on what state you are in and the scope of practice stated in the nurse practice act therein.

in ga., there is no scope of practice explicitly stated in the npa; therefore, it is up to each individual facility what an lpn can be qualified/certified to do here.

i hope this helps you. good luck on the nclex!

chris
