Question about applying to different schools

Published

How do you apply to multiple schools while only attending one???

I'm going to Baker in C. T. and once I complete all my pre-reqs I will be interested in applying to other nursing programs so I can have a better chance of getting in.

I would also apply at MCC. In fact, you can apply at MCC before you even get through your first two quarters of pre-reqs at MCC.

I took 13 pre-reqs at Baker and was rejected twice, because I dropped a class early on and "re-took" it. They take 40 each time and I was number 46. Macomb, I only needed to have A&P 1&2 completed, Eng 101 and Psych, and I think Micro (now) to apply to MCC. You can find out at Macomb.edu. I was accepted should start at MCC in August. I ranked #6 after all that.

Good Luck. If I would have gone with MCC to begin with, I would have saved myself thousands of dollars and I would have been nearly done by now. Not that Baker isn't a fine school. But apply to both, and check to see exactly what you need at MCC. Don't make my same mistake.

So I would have to retake classes at MCC?

Did you have to start taking classes first before applying at MCC?

I will apply to both.... should I go talk to someone at MCC first?

I will stay at Baker even though I am going to have to retake A&P I. I figure apply to both schools, I just never know how to go about it.

Thanks for your help Gemberly!!

No, I transferred my Baker Classes to MCC. Technically you don't have to even take any classes MCC before you apply, but you would have a couple of classes to take before you start or get to a certain point in your program. Baker doesn't offer them.

I would talk to someone at MCC. Or attend the Nursing Seminar (Orientation?) for more information.

I re-took ONE class at Baker and couldn't get in. I didn't even actually earn a grade in it. I withdrew before I even had ONE assignment due in the class and they held it against me.

There is also the HFCC option. You can take classes you need there at MCC and then transfer over and get on their wait list. If I would have done that at the start, I would still be almost done now. Baker was a long, expensive road that didn't pan out. But I learned a lot and I loved going there.

So if I apply at HFCC would I first have to apply at MCC and take the extra classes needed?
