question about ADN program

Hello,

I need some help from the experts out there. I'm a 40 years old gal who currently living in Collins County. I have always wanted to be a nurse. I have a very old BS degree in computer science/mathematic back in 1993 at UTA (Tarrant County). I wanted to enroll in a nursing ADN (2 years) program at COLLIN COMMUNTIY COLLEGE. I know that the requirement for admission is to complete all four pre-entrance courses (MATH 1342; BIOL 2401, BIOL 2402, and BIOL 2421). Here is my question. Since my BS is more than 5 year old, in order to get into the program, do I have to retake all of my basic course of ENG, BIO, CHEM, HIST etc? I've already send an email to CCC with this question but no respond. If any one been through this, please share some info with me. Thank-you in advance.

I'm not familiar with that particular program, but my guess would be that you would just need to retake your sciences. Good luck!

Yeah, I'm not familiar with the program either, but I've never seen classes other than the sciences expire for any nursing programs. So, I'd bet worst case is repeating the sciences.

Have you looked into nursing programs for students who already have a 4 year degree?

well, uh, no expert here, but at one time, I was trying out for professional student status! (or maybe it was just perpetual student)

But yup, it varies from school to school. My A&P is 12 years old -- 4.0 in each. I've looked at some colleges who accept it, and some who say I need to retake one or both.

UT-Austin accepts both but requires me to take the statistics class. lol -- :uhoh3: my first degree is in math, and I've had 2 stat classes, one with several nursing students in it!

I've never been able to figure out the credit acceptance game.

Good luck to you! I hope to be back in school myself asap!!
